Propp's Narrative Theory

Propp's Narrative Functions
A story is a sequence of events, better known as the plot. A narrative is the way those events have been placed together in order to be presented to the audience.
Propp's Narrative Functions:
Propp analysed carious Russian Folktales to understand the main elements within the plot. During his analysis, he found that there were 31 different plot elements, along with the use of at least one of the eight main characters within each narrative. These are as follows:
